Elizabeth Taylor & Stars Come Out for HIV-AIDS Gala

ET was there as the stars came out to the Macy's Passport 2008 Gala to raise $27 million for HIV and AIDS research, and also honor legend and humanitarian Elizabeth Taylor.

Celebrities praised Elizabeth for her legendary career and tireless commitment to the HIV/AIDS cause.

"Elizabeth is a hero -- she is an iconic artist, designer, and entrepreneur," actress Kathy Ireland tells ET. "She is a mentor, and she is loved by not only me, but people all over the world."

"She's an icon, and I think she's done a wonderful job," designer Tommy Hilfiger tells ET about Elizabeth.

The event, hosted by Sharon Stone, marked one of her first public appearances since the actress' latest headline-grabbing custody battle.

Other celebrities attending the event included actresses Tara Reid and Traci Bingham. Designers Tommy Hilfiger and Christian Audigier were also there as Macy's featured the latest in fall fashion.
