Finally, after more than a decade of an uneasy relationship following the break-up and eventual dissolution of their marriage, Pops Fernandez and Martin Nievera are together again — but only in a show. They have actually done it once or twice abroad but never back home. This coming February 6 at the Araneta Coliseum, the “un-couple” will rekindle the good old times in a concert titled Missing You produced for Fearless Promotions by Jomari Yllana, Pops’ current flame (even if she insists that they are just “special friends”) and directed by Rowell Santiago who is Pops’ “ex” (with Homer Flores as musical director). Although now living separate lives (connected only by their sons Ram and Robin), Pops and Martin for sure, to paraphrase a Joey Albert song, remember the boy and the girl who caught the fancy of the public when they marched down the aisle in what was described as a “fairy-tale wedding” (used as an added attraction to Always & Forever, their “honeymoon” movie). But do they still remember “the feeling?” They are the king and queen of concert and achieve so much. Good luck Guys!
