Katie Holmes will play a nonprofit attorney when the 'Batman Begins' star returns to TV in the "Grace" episode of ABC's "Eli Stone."
So why did the film star return to the tube? "Eli Stone" creator and executive producer Greg Berlanti had worked with Katie on "Dawson's Creek" and invited her.
Earlier, Stephen McPherson, president of ABC Entertainment, revealed: "I was at the table read. She was fabulous. It's a great role for her. There's actually some singing and dancing that she does, and she's exquisite. But first and foremost, Greg came to me with the idea because he really had a creative idea -- a way to do it, and he and Katie wanted to get back together and do something. So we were really fortunate that she agreed to do it."
"Eli Stone" will air Thursdays at 10 p.m. on ABC this fall.
