Katie Holmes' play "All My Sons" was the top grossing production on Broadway for the week ending Sep. 28, bringing in a whopping $684,002.

The eagerly-anticipated Arthur Miller play took the top spot after eight preview performances and was the only non-musical production in the top ten grossing shows, the producers said.

"All My Sons," which also stars John Lithgow, Dianne Wiest and Patrick Wilson, officially opens Oct. 16.

The play won the Tony Award for Arthur Miller in 1947 and ran for 328 performances on Broadway. It tells the story of a successful businessman who knowingly sells the government defective airplane parts during World War II and when the truth comes out, his life begins to unravel.

Katie Holmes on 'Eli Stone'

Katie Holmes is set to guest star on ABC's "Eli Stone," and from the looks of the pics, the episode is sure to be interesting.

In these new photos obtained by ET, Katie's "Stone" character is a study in contrasts -- in one scene she is pictured dancing in what appears to be a sultry cabaret-esque number, while, in the other snaps, she more closely resembles what we'd expect of her character -- an attorney.

So why did the film star return to the tube? "Eli Stone" creator and executive producer Greg Berlanti had worked with Katie on "Dawson's Creek" and invited her. The show returns Thursday October 14 at 10 p.m. on ABC, and we're told that Katie's episode will air on October 21.

Occupants of Car that Hit Shia LaBeouf Charged

Two people who were in a vehicle that hit actor Shia LaBeouf's car in July in West Hollywood have been charged with misdemeanor lying to police.

Kimberly Bent and Herbert Simon were charged with one count each of giving false information to a police officer.

Officials announced last week that Shia will not face charges related to the car accident that left him with an injured hand. The Los Angeles District Attorney's office told ET they would not file charges because of insufficient evidence.

LaBeouf was involved in the accident on July 27, when the vehicle occupied by Bent and Simon collided with the young actor's pickup truck. The 'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull' star underwent hand surgery after being injured in the crash, and his injury was written into the script of his upcoming movie, 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen,' which is currently filming.

Lawsuit: Heath Ledger Insurer Refusing to Pay $10 Million Benefit

A lawsuit has been filed against the insurer that wrote Heath Ledger's $10 million life insurance policy challenging the company's claim that the actor's death in January 2008 may have actually been a suicide.

In court papers obtained by ET, the lawsuit claims the insurer, ReliaStar, acted in bad faith and engaged in the "illegal and unfair practice" of post-claim underwriting by insisting the deceased actor may have committed suicide even though his death was officially ruled an accidental overdose.

When Ledger took out the policy in 2007, he named his daughter, Matilda Rose, who turns three next month, as the sole beneficiary. Lawyers filed the lawsuit on his behalf in Los Angeles Superior Court this month.

Investigators concluded that Ledger died of an accidental overdose of drugs at his New York apartment in January 2008.

In ReliaStar's answer to the complaint, the company asserts that it "is entitled to investigate plaintiff's claim to determine if the 'suicide' provision is applicable."

One of the attorneys working on behalf of Matilda's estate, William Shernoff, said the insurance company is just trying to keep the case tied up in court to avoid paying the benefit. "ReliaStar is just trying to drag out the process, for what could be years, to avoid paying the money," Shernoff said.

According to Shernoff, ReliaStar's lawyers have informed Matilda's attorneys that as part of their investigation, they intend to take the depositions of actress Mary-Kate Olsen, the masseuse who was at Ledger's home when he died, as well as Ledger's colleagues on his last film, his agents, doctors, psychologists and others.

New Details and 911 Call in Locklear Arrest

New details on Heather Locklear's arrest are emerging, including a 911 call and the battery of tests the actress underwent Saturday evening.

A spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol confirmed to ET a 911 call was made by a concerned citizen around 4:30 PM Saturday after she observed a woman acting strangely and driving erratically as she left a parking lot in Montecito, California- an upscale town adjacent to Santa Barbara.

Among the details, the CHP rep tells ET Locklear was observed by the citizen as backing over a pair of sunglasses several times while she was attempting to maneuver out of the parking area.

When an officer arrived, Locklear had moved to the nearby Highway 192 where she was stopped in a travel lane. A CHP officer asked for her license, registration and proof of insurance and identified her as Heather Locklear.

Locklear was taken to the police station, where she was tested for alcohol and drugs. She was booked at 7 p.m. Saturday on suspicion of driving under the influence of prescription medication and was later released from custody.

Locklear left a treatment facility in Arizona in July after receiving four weeks of treatment for anxiety and depression.

Representatives for Locklear decline to comment but have referred ET to Locklear's attorney.

Tina Fey Returns to 'SNL' as Sarah Palin

Tina Fey returned to "Saturday Night Live" last night to reprise her role as Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin in a skit featuring Amy Poehler as CBS news anchor Katie Couric.

In the spoof an actual interview Couric conducted with Palin earlier in the week, Poehler pressed Fey's Palin to specifically discuss how she would help spread democracy abroad.

"Katie, I'd like to use one of my lifelines... I want to phone a friend."

When a puzzled Poehler then informed her that wasn't how the interview worked, Fey recited one of Palin's most quoted lines from the actual interview: "Well, in that case, I'm just gonna have to get back to ya."

At one point, Poehler's character Couric tells Fey: "Forgive me Mrs. Palin, but it seems to me that when cornered, you become increasingly adorable. Is that fair to say? "I don't know -- is it?" Fey responds, then looks into the camera, strikes a pose and flashes a big smile.

Poehler, who recently announced she is leaving the long-running NBC comedy show after the November election, kicked off the "SNL" season premiere earlier this month with a reprisal of her Hillary Clinton portrayal in a sketch that also featured Fey as Palin.

Elizabeth Taylor on Newman: 'Pure Integrity'

Dame Elizabeth Taylor, who memorably sizzled onscreen with Paul Newman in 'Cat on a Hot Tin Roof' (for which he received his first Best Actor Oscar nomination), shares her thoughts about the late screen legend with ET:

"I loved that man with all my heart," she says. "He was goodness and kindness and pure integrity. I know he loved his family, his wife, the world and mankind. He was purity of heart. Working with him was such a joy. Knowing him, being his friend, was as golden as the sunset and a privilege I'll never forget. I thank God and feel so honored for that privilege. May he be in God's embrace forever

Schwarzenegger, Clintons React to Newman's Death

Prominent political names are also grieving the loss of Paul Newman. California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bill and Hillary Clinton share their reactions with ET.

"Paul Newman was the ultimate cool guy who men wanted to be like and women adored," Arnold tells ET. "He was an American icon, a brilliant actor, a Renaissance man and a generous but modest philanthropist.

Arnold adds: "He entertained millions in some of Hollywood's most memorable roles ever, and he brightened the lives of many more, especially seriously ill children, through his charitable works. Paul was one of a kind. The beloved film star will be missed by a world of fans and admirers. Maria and I send our thoughts and prayers to his wife, Joanne Woodward, his entire family and his many friends."

And Bill and Hillary Clinton tell us: "Paul was an American icon, philanthropist and champion for children. We will miss our dear friend, whose continued support always meant the world to us. Our prayers and thoughts are with Joanne and the Newman family and the many people who Paul impacted through his endless kindness and generosity."

Paul Newman's daughters share heartfelt memories of their legendary father in a new statement to ET.

They tell us: "Paul Newman played many unforgettable roles. But the ones for which he was proudest never had top billing on the marquee.

"Devoted husband. Loving father. Adoring grandfather. Dedicated philanthropist.

"Our father was a rare symbol of selfless humility, the last to acknowledge what he was doing was special. Intensely private, he quietly succeeded beyond measure in impacting the lives of so many with his generosity.

"Always and to the end, Dad was incredibly grateful for his good fortune. In his own words: 'It's been a privilege to be here.'

"He will be profoundly missed by those whose lives he touched, but he leaves us with extraordinary inspiration to draw upon.

"During this difficult time, we ask for privacy for our family."

Daryl Hannah Sues Bike Company

ET has obtained new court papers in which 'Kill Bill' beauty Daryl Hannah sues a purported hybrid electric bicycle company for using her name and picture in its ads without her permission.

In the papers, Hannah alleges that the company's Web sites and the cover of its catalogue feature a picture of her riding a bike on advertisements.

The papers allege that Hannah's counsel first asked the company to remove her name and likeness from its ads this May -- the company allegedly wrote back saying they would comply, but purportedly continued to use the 47-year-old actress' name and image.

In the lawsuit, Hannah asks for an amount of money in damages "that is not yet fully ascertainable, but is believed to be in excess of one million dollars."

Leonardo DiCaprio & Russell Crowe Tell No 'Lies'

Powerhouse actors Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe have teamed up for the spy thriller 'Body of Lies,' in theaters October 10, and the two are more than happy to share their thoughts with our own Thea Andrews on working together again, the political climate -- and hamburgers!

"[Director Ridley Scott] called up and said, 'I've got this specific character I want you to play," Russell says of his latest big-screen portrayal. "How do you feel about putting on a large amount of weight?' And I thought to myself, 'hamburgers.' And I thought, 'Yes, from a serious artistic perspective, Ridley, I shall make that sacrifice for you.'"

In 'Body of Lies,' Leo and Russell play CIA operatives who team up to track an al-Qaeda leader rumored to be planning attacks against America. Leo's character is an ex-journalist-turned-CIA agent who is sent to Amman to work with Jordan's intelligence chief, played by Russell.

The project marks a reunion of sorts, as Leo and Russell co-starred in 'The Quick and the Dead' together back in 1995 opposite Sharon Stone and Gene Hackman.

"We got to know each other when we were very young and green," says Leo, "and then here we are many years later and he seems like the same guy. And he's also developed a huge, great, extremely impressive body of work as well. I couldn't respect the guy more as an actor."

"We were good friends on 'Quick and the Dead,'" adds Russell. "We both felt like new kids on the block. It was our first big Hollywood feature film. It was wonderful to get together on this film and find out he's the same fella. He's the essentially the same guy, great heart, sweet man."

The film also reunites Russell with his 'Gladiator' and 'A Good Year' director Ridley Scott, who are still planning on a future collaboration with 'Nottingham,' a revisionist take on the Robin Hood legend.

"I made a decision a few years ago that, based on the fact that I really enjoy his company, when Ridley calls I'll just do that film, and I'll work out why I want to do the film later on," say Russell.

As for his new long-haired look, the Aussie actor explains, "I've been growing this hair for about two years for one particular role, and I've done two other movies in between trying to hide it."

On the political side, both actors were willing to weigh in on the current climate.

"I'm going to vote for the candidate that I believe has the better environmental policy," says Leo. "I think that in the last eight years we could have done an incredible amount to change this country; be less reliant on foreign oil and start to develop alternative ways of getting energy through wind and solar power. I wish we'd have done that in the last eight years, but we didn't. So I'm going to vote in a way where I feel that we're going to start to finally make that transition."

"I think it's a very exciting time for America," says Russell. "It's a huge decision to make, and what a wonderful situation to be in that you actually get to take part in that."

DJ AM, who was injured in a Learjet crash last weekend that claimed the lives of four people and also injured rocker Travis Barker, has been released from a Georgia hospital.

While he is deeply saddened by the events, he is thankful for all of the love and support he has been receiving from fans and friends worldwide. We ask that you continue respect his privacy as he rests and heals and mourns the loss of his friends."

Hours before the crash, which according to officials may have been caused by a blown tire, DJ AM and Travis were rocking a South Carolina crowd. DJ AM and the tattooed drummer played T-Mobile's free concert in the Five Points area of Columbia, South Carolina on the evening of September 19 under the name TRVSDJ-AM.

The crash left Travis and DJ AM in critical but stable condition, with second and third-degree burns.

David Letterman Feels Like an 'Ugly Date' After McCain's Cancellation

A seemingly peeved David Letterman continued to address John McCain's cancellation on his Thursday night "Late Show" on CBS, saying he took the rejection like an "ugly date" and talking about the situation with tonight's guest, Paris Hilton.

This is the funny man's second night venting about McCain's Wednesday cancellation, when Letterman announced that the GOP presidential candidate personally called him to apologize for backing out of the appearance, citing a rush to fly to Washington to deal with the nation's economic situation.

But Letterman cut to a live CBS feed during the taping of his Wednesday show that showed McCain preparing for an interview with CBS News' Katie Couric.

Letterman called himself a "patriot" for relieving McCain of his appearance commitment, but reiterated he felt "used," "cheap," and "sullied" -- "like an ugly date."

"Here's how it works: you don't come to see me? You don't come to see me? Well, we might not see you on Inauguration Day," Letterman said.

Letterman jokingly likened McCain's cancellation to a recent headline-grabbing magic stunt, in which daredevil David Blaine hung upside for 60 hours in New York City.

"They just left the guy hanging there," Letterman said. "It's the same thing McCain did to me last night."

And then the talk-show host brought up the cancellation while interviewing his Thursday night guest, Paris Hilton. Hilton was mentioned unfavorably in a McCain presidential ad campaign last August, and then retaliated back at the GOP candidate in her own internet video.

"I heard he dissed you," Hilton told Letterman. "He dissed me."

A spokesperson for McCain explained the cancellation by saying that Wednesday "wasn't a night for comedy," adding that McCain "deeply regrets offending Mr. Letterman."

Sheriff's Department spokesman Steve Whitmore told ET at the time that the victim was allegedly struck three times with an open hand. Renee Zellweger Reveals Her Breast Cancer Scare

Renee Zellweger talks about when she found two small lumps in her right breast and feared she may have had breast cancer.

"I thought, 'Oh, I know what you do now. You find out what that is.' So I went and found out," Renee said.

The actress tells Self magazine she immediately went to the doctor after a self examination in 1996 when she found the lumps.

Renee talks about how she felt when she went to see her doctor in Los Angeles: "I was like, 'Let's just have it over with. Get in there, stab away, get your little crunchy bit or whatever you're looking for, put it in the mail and we'll call it a day.'"

Thankfully, it was not cancer but fibroadenomas, or benign breast tumors. Renee calls the medical term a "fancy word for nothing."

Since her breast cancer scare Renee says, "I pay attention. I do go get my check-ups." Renee's entire interview will be in the October issue of Self magazine.

MySpace tries to strike new chord in digital music

Make room, iTunes. MySpace is hoping to shake up the digital music scene. In a bid to spruce up its popular online hangout, MySpace plans to flip the switch Thursday on a much-anticipated service that will give its roughly 120 million users free access to hundreds of thousands of songs from the world's largest recording labels.

The catch: the music can be played only on personal computers connected to the Internet and listeners have to tolerate advertising splashed across the screen. Anyone who wants to transfer a song to a portable device like Apple Inc.'s iPod will have to buy the music through Amazon.com Inc.'s year-old downloading service, which sells songs for as little as 79 cents apiece.

Unlike much of the material at Apple's iTunes store, the music sold through MySpace's new service won't contain the protections that limit how many times a track can be copied.

MySpace is hoping to set itself apart from iTunes even further by allowing its users to create an unlimited number of playlists containing up to 100 songs apiece - a sharing concept similar to music services already offered by Imeem and Last.fm.

If MySpace's plan pans out, people will regularly post different playlists on their profiles and expose their friends to new music.

The recording labels are betting these implicit recommendations will cultivate more interest in more songs and eventually generate revenue to help recoup some of the revenue that has evaporated as CD sales have plunged from $12 billion in 1999 to a projected $5 billion this year.

"We have to unlock the social value of our music," said Michael Nash, executive vice president of digital strategy and business development for Warner Music Group Inc.

Besides Warner, the three other major recording labels - Sony BMG Music Entertainment, Universal Music Group and EMI Music - also are opening up their libraries to the MySpace service, which will operate as a joint venture with the music industry. Sony ATV/Music Publishing and The Orchard also have joined the MySpace alliance.

MySpace is starting with several hundred thousand songs, but expects to surpass the size of Apple's iTunes store, which stocks 8.5 million songs.

"When all is said and done, we will have the richest catalog of content on the Internet," boasted Amit Kapur, MySpace's chief operating officer.

The music labels are hoping that the MySpace service can lessen the dominance of iTunes, which has sold more than 5 billion songs since its 2003 inception and now ranks as the largest music retailer. Apple has vexed the music industry by refusing to allowing higher prices to be charged for the most popular songs.

Several other services, mostly peddling monthly subscription fees for access to large music libraries, have tried to tackle iTunes with little success. The list of foiled challengers include Yahoo Music, RealNetworks Inc.'s Rhapsody and Napster Inc., which this month agreed to be acquired by Best Buy Co. for $121 million.

The difficulty developing a major alternative to iTunes hasn't seemed to discourage the music labels yet. Rio Caraeff, who heads Universal Music's digital efforts, predicted services similar to the MySpace joint venture will sprout at other social networks.

"We know there is a large portion of people who love music but don't want to buy music," Caraeff said. "We have to figure out a new business model that serves that audience while providing remuneration for the labels and the artists."

MySpace appears to be in a better position to take on iTunes because its site has always emphasized music. About 5 million bands and singers have MySpace accounts, and two-third of its users stream music on their profiles.

In MySpace's early years, the music industry lashed out at the site as a haven for pirated songs. Universal Music even sued MySpace for copyright infringement; the case was settled in April to open the door for the new joint venture.

Despite its musical bent, MySpace isn't positioning its service as an iTunes killer. "We see this as more of a complement to what Apple is doing and create even more demand for digital music devices," said Chris DeWolfe, MySpace's CEO. "And we think it can create an ecosystem for both music artists and labels to make more money."

As it tries to become a hot spot for sharing and hearing music, MySpace also hopes to sell more brand-driven advertising and establish its Web site as the go-to spot for buying concert tickets and music merchandise.

The strategy is another prong in MySpace's efforts to drum up more online revenue for Rupert Murdoch's media conglomerate, News Corp., which bought the site for $580 million in 2005.

McDonald's Corp., State Farm Insurance, Toyota Motor Corp. and Sony Pictures are sponsoring the music service's launch.

Maintaining the advertising momentum won't be easy because commercials haven't always resonated on sites devoted to socializing.

"The big question is whether they can change their environment so people will want to do their shopping as well as their gossiping (at MySpace)," said Forrester Research analyst James McQuivey. He doubts the music joint venture will become a major source of advertising because studies have shown people often don't watch the computer screen when they stream music over the Internet.

If MySpace and the participating music labels intend to finance the service with advertising, McQuivey predicted they will have to permit audio commercials to be played every two songs or so. DeWolfe, though, said MySpace doesn't plan to allow that because users find it too intrusive.

Even if the music service isn't an immediate music maker, MySpace needed to do something dramatic to regain its competitive edge, said Pali Capital analyst Richard Greenfield.

Although it remains the Internet's largest social network, MySpace increasingly finds itself being upstaged by Facebook Inc., whose decision to host a wide variety of outside applications - including some music programs - has helped nearly quadruple its audience in the past 18 months to about 90 million users.

MySpace's "biggest challenge is finding new things for their users to do," Greenfield said. "You have to make sure people have a reason to stay on the site. You don't want people getting bored."

BYOC: Company gives workers unusual laptop leeway

In a nod to how finicky people have become about the gadgets they use, software company Citrix Systems Inc. is rolling out a new program for its workers: BYOC - Bring Your Own Computer.

Employees get a $2,100 stipend to buy a laptop and three-year service plan. In exchange for getting a computer with the specs they want - whether it's a wide screen, a light weight or ultra-fast processing - the workers essentially take on the company's technology purchasing and maintenance responsibilities. The 200 staffers who have signed up since the pilot program began this month say it's a deal they're happy to take.

Carolyn VanVurst, a Citrix information technology specialist, said she loved the idea of having a single laptop for both personal and business use, since she's on the computer so much.

"It was easier for me to have my life on one device instead of separated," she said.

It appears Citrix is the first large company to take such a leap, at least publicly. Steve Kleynhans, an analyst at Gartner Inc., said other technology companies have started similar pilot programs but are doing so under the radar.

The idea presents technical challenges - such as making sure employees can access the programs they need for their jobs - as well as corporate policy questions, including how sensitive information is protected on the employees' computers.

"There's a lot of groundwork that needs to be done," Kleynhans said.

For Citrix, the program is a way of promoting its "virtualization" technology, which among other things lets companies run software programs they need - like SAP for time sheets and Microsoft Exchange for e-mail - in a central data center. Employees access the applications by logging in remotely, but the programs and potentially confidential information in them are never downloaded to the workers' own laptops.

Citrix's chief information officer, Paul Martine, said the company's leaders asked themselves: "Our technology does this - why aren't we doing this?"

"I'm either crazy," Martine added, "or this is going to be the trend of the future."

Whether other companies follow the bring-your-own-computer route is more likely to depend on whether it saves them any money. Citrix said it generally had been spending $2,500 to $2,600 to buy and manage a PC for each employee - a figure that analysts said likely is similar at other companies - so it comes out ahead with the $2,100 stipend.

Pund-IT analyst Charles King called it a "very forward-looking strategy."

"People tend to become very personally attached to their technology," King said. "Having the freedom to buy the kind of computer you want would be seen as a perk, and a happy employee is usually a productive one."

However, Sara Radicati, an analyst whose Radicati Group tracks business computing use, said she doesn't see what problem the Citrix program fixes, and she's unsure how useful it will be.

"We live in a complex world, so it is easier to manage and know where your data is and what is being done with company-sensitive information if you have a little more control," Radicati said.

Tim Bajarin, head of technology consulting group Creative Strategies, added that the BYOC plan is likely easier for a software company like Citrix. "They are a virtualization company so they understand how to make this work successfully," Bajarin said. "For a traditional IT shop ... this is very difficult to do."

There are some restrictions. Citrix is requiring that employees use either Windows or Mac operating systems, have antivirus software and buy a three-year, full-service warranty so that tech support from the manufacturer can be on hand within 24 hours and supply a loaner if needed.

The pilot period is expected to last until the end of the year. Martine will be looking to see whether the program is as self-service as hoped. He'll also be keeping an eye on whether staffers are leaving the company shortly after receiving the laptop stipend. If that happens, Citrix may prorate the stipend amount, as they do with relocation expenses in similar situations.

Lettie Carrisales, an information technology manager at Citrix participating in the pilot, said she's glad the company's computing purchases don't have to be "one-size-fits-all anymore." For example, she said, an engineer needs a faster, more robust machine than someone with more clerical duties. Carrisales is considering getting a Mac because it can run both its own operating system and Windows, and her customers use both.

Employees like VanVurst, who was enticed by having the same computer for office and personal use, might find that to be a trap, said Citrix software engineer Mark Beyer. People can find themselves doing more work from home, or more personal tasks while at work, he said.

A face from ears: Palin is carved into cornfield

An Ohio farmer would like to invite you to get lost inside the head of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

A 16-acre corn maze near the town of Whitehouse has been carved in Palin's likeness, complete with her familiar updo hairstyle and eyeglasses.

Farmer Duke Wheeler says that Palin created a lot of excitement in the campaign and that he was hoping to generate some for this year's maze.

Wheeler says it took an artist from Idaho at least eight hours to mow down stalks for the maze.

Mama's milk ice cream cone, anyone?

Mooove over, Holsteins. PETA wants world-famous Ben & Jerry's Homemade Ice Cream to tap nursing moms, rather than cows, for the milk used in its ice cream.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is asking the ice cream maker to begin using breast milk in its products instead of cow's milk, saying it would reduce the suffering of cows and calves and give ice cream lovers a healthier product.

The idea got a cool reception Thursday from Ben & Jerry's officials, the company's customers and even La Leche League International, the world's oldest breast-feeding support organization, which promotes the practice - for babies, anyway.

PETA wrote a letter to company founders Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield on Tuesday, telling them cow's milk is hazardous and that milking them is cruel.

"If Ben and Jerry's replaced the cow's milk in its ice cream with breast milk, your customers - and cows - would reap the benefits," wrote Tracy Reiman, executive vice president of the animal rights advocacy group. She said dairy products have been linked to juvenile diabetes, allergies and obesity.

Ashley Byrne, a campaign coordinator for PETA, acknowledged the implausibility of substituting breast milk for cow's milk, but said it's no stranger than humans consuming the milk of another species.

"We're aware this idea is somewhat absurd, and that putting it into practice is a stretch. At the time same, it's pretty absurd for us to be drinking the milk of cows," she said.

It takes about 12 pounds - or 1 1/2 gallons of milk - to make a gallon of ice cream. Ben & Jerry's, which gets its milk exclusively from Vermont cows, won't say how much milk it uses or how much ice cream it sells.

As a standardized product under federal regulations, ice cream must be made with milk from healthy cows. Ice cream made from goat's milk, for example, would have to be labeled as such.

Presumably, so would mother's milk ice cream.

To Ben & Jerry's, the idea is udderly ridiculous.

"We applaud PETA's novel approach to bringing attention to an issue, but we believe a mother's milk is best used for her child," spokesman Sean Greenwood said in an e-mail. He didn't respond to requests for an interview.

Leon Berthiaume, general manager of the St. Albans Cooperative Creamery, which provides milk products to Ben & Jerry's, called the dairy products "among the safest in the world."

"Milk from cows has long-term health benefits and has been proven to be safe and healthy and an important part of the American diet for generations," he said. "I'm not ready to make that change."

Cow's milk and mother's milk aren't interchangeable, according to La Leche spokeswoman Jane Crouse, who says breast milk is a dynamic substance that's different with each woman and each child and might have difficulty being processed into ice cream.

Then there's the question of who would provide the milk, and whether they'd be paid.

"Some women feel compelled to donate milk to a milk bank for adopted babies, or for someone who's ill or unable to breast feed. There's plenty of anecdotal evidence about sisters who nurse each others' babies. There's a population of women very willing to share their milk. Whether there's enough to do it for a commercial entity, who can say?" she said.

At the Ben & Jerry's factory in Waterbury, consumers gave a collective "Ehttp://www" to the idea Thursday.

"It's kind of creepy," said Jeff Waugh, 42, of Dayton, Ohio.

"I think it's a little nutty," said the Rev. Roger Wooton, 83, of Malden, Mass., finishing up a cup of Heath Bar Crunch.

"How would they get all that milk?" said his wife, Jane Wooton, 77.

Jen Wahlbrink, 34, of Phoenix, who breast-fed her 11-month-old son, Cameron, said she wouldn't touch ice cream made from mother's milk. She remembers her nursing days - and not that fondly.

"The (breast) pumps just weren't that much fun. You really do feel like a cow," she said, cradling her son in her hands.

Oprah Winfrey Set to Lend Voice to Disney Film

She has spoken to the masses on her daily talk-show for decades, and now Oprah Winfrey is set to lend her famous voice to an upcoming Disney animated film!

The talk-show icon has been added to the cast of Disney's, "The Princess and the Frog," says The Hollywood Reporter.

John Lasseter, who holds the chief creative office at Pixar and Walt Disney Animation, announced Wednesday that Oprah will voice the role of Eudora, the main character's mother.

The film, which takes place in the French Quarter of New Orleans, is slated for a late 2009 release, says the paper.

Winfrey has previously voiced other animated films, most recently for "Bee Movie."

David Letterman's Late-Show Thoughts on McCain's TV Cancellation

David Letterman made it no secret how he feels about John McCain's cancellation Wednesday of a scheduled appearance on the funny man's "Late Show" on CBS -- devoting his monologue to vent about the cancellation and mentioning it with disapproval throughout the show.

"I'm more than a little disappointed by this behavior," Letterman said. "We're suspending the campaign. Suspending it because there's an economic crisis, or because the poll numbers are sliding?"

Letterman's "Top 10" centered on what questions people would ask the McCain presidential campaign, and the talk-show host even talked about the cancellation with guest Keith Olbermann. As always, Letterman managed to weave in jokes about McCain's backing-out throughout the show.

"Maybe if he hadn't taken two years off to run for president, he wouldn't have to rush to Washington now to deal with the crisis," Letterman said.

He went on to say this about McCain's campaign:

"But when you call up, and you call up at the last minute and you cancel a show -- ladies and gentleman -- that's starting to smell…," Letterman said. "It makes me think something is going haywire with the campaign."

A seemingly frustrated Letterman then questioned why McCain's VP running mate, Sarah Palin, didn't fill in for McCain, asking, "Where's your second-string quarterback?"

Clay Aiken: 'I Have a Responsibility'

ET broke the news on Tuesday that new dad Clay Aiken has come out with his sexual identity, and now we have a first look at his revealing, two-part interview with Diane Sawyer on today's "Good Morning America."

"I can't raise a kid and teach him how to lie, teach him to hide things; I can't raise a kid and teach him to keep secrets," the singer tells Sawyer about his decision to publicly acknowledge that he's gay. "And at the same time, I also don't ever want to raise him in an environment where it's not okay for him to be exactly who he is, no matter what."

The former "American Idol" runner-up is currently performing on Broadway in Spamalot and released his fourth studio album, On My Way Here, this summer. He graces the cover of the new People magazine, on newsstands tomorrow, with the headline, "Yes, I'm Gay," pictured cradling his newborn son Parker, born via in vitro fertilization.

"[It's] an obvious time to just, you know, let the guard down and say, 'I have a responsibility for someone other than myself now,'" the performer tells Sawyer.

Clay has been a special correspondent for ET and "The Insider," performing on our stage, interviewing stars on the "Reba" set and even covering the 2005 Emmys for us. In the fall of 2006, he revealed his frustration with being dogged incessantly by the question of his sexuality.

"I understand 'Clay Aiken leads a really boring life' is not a good headline and you have to sell a paper," he told us in a very candid interview. "I'm trying to get to that point where I just don't care anymore. You can't change people's minds, and I want to sing. That's what I like doing and I enjoy my job. I guess I hate to say it, but you gotta take the good with the bad, because sometimes it's baaaad."

He also revealed that he had turned to the prescription drug Paxil to cope with anxiety, and how it helped him to deal with the stress of fame.

"It's hard to do this business without maturing a little," he said. "I'm much more savvy now. I'm much more aware of my surroundings, of business. I was showing vacation pictures, and there comes a point where I've realized, you know, give them an inch, they'll take a mile!"

Watch ET for the latest Clay Aiken news!

Aerosmith's Steven Tyler Sues Cyber-Impersonators

In new court papers obtained by ET, Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler sues a group of people whom he claims have impersonated him and his girlfriend on Internet blogs.

The papers allege that the impersonators post "online diary entries" that "disclose private thoughts and details" about the singer and his girlfriend's life.

The complaints Tyler brings against the defendants in the papers include public disclosure of private fact, false light and common law misappropriation of likeness.

"I'm so proud of him," Inna admired. "He's come such a long way."

Toni Braxton and Alec Mazo were the other pair seemingly up for elimination, prompting judge Len Goodman to say: "This shows that nobody's safe. Anybody can be in the bottom two!"

Musical performances by Jesse McCartney and the Jonas Brothers lifted spirits -- Joe Jonas even danced mid-song for a few beats!

David was there from the beginning of his nephew's life: "I was there for the birth," he tells ET Canada. "My sister just roared through the delivery, no [whining], like, boom, let's have this kid. And she did, and the baby is beautiful, and all is good."

Regarding talking to the press about his sister and her family, David said, "I talked to Jaymes and Clay this morning, and I said, 'What's the parameters?' and basically they just said, which I [know] is true, 'One sentence and then move on.'"

Clooney famously played Dr. Doug Ross from 1994 through 2000.

McCain Cancels TV Appearance After Announcing Campaign Break

Republican presidential nominee John McCain has canceled a scheduled appearance on the "Late Show with David Letterman" tonight, after announcing earlier today he would put his presidential campaign on hold to go back to Washington in an effort to work with lawmakers to aid the ailing economy.

He asked his Democratic opponent, Barack Obama, to also put his campaign on hold and asked for a cancellation of this Friday's scheduled debate with Obama, but Obama said in a news conference Wednesday that the debate should go on, according to the Associated Press. "It's my belief that this is exactly the time when the American people need to hear from the person who in approximately 40 days will be responsible for dealing with this mess," Obama asserted. "It's going to be part of the president's job to deal with more than one thing at once."

Left-wing MSNBC commentator Keith Olbermann will appear on "Letterman" tonight in McCain's place, along with "Grey's Anatomy"'s actress Chandra Wilson and musical guest, Aussie singer/songwriter Delta Goodrem.
