Jerry Lewis Gun Case Dismissed

The gun charge against legendary comedy and film icon Jerry Lewis has been dropped. A Las Vegas judge dismissed the case on Friday once attorneys reached an agreement not to fine Lewis for an incident at the airport earlier this year, says the Associated Press.

This July, guards at McCarran International Airport detained the veteran entertainer after finding a .22 calibur gun in his luggage. Jerry was then cited for carrying a concealed weapon without a permit.

He told ET's Jann Carl that the firearm "was given to me by a marvelous, marvelous engraver. And last year at the telethon of '07, he presented me with this gorgeous gift. I put it in that traveling case, and I hadn't traveled since that telethon until that day."

He explained that he'd simply forgotten placing the gun in his travel luggage a year earlier.
