Jennifer Hudson Gets a Visit from 'Extreme Makeover'

Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Hudson guest stars on the sixth season premiere of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," which is traveling to Maryland to help a single mother keep her promise to her dying sister to take care of her 10 nieces and nephews and keep them out of foster care.

"We went to visit Jennifer in Chicago," Eduardo Xol, a designer and lifestyle expert for the series reveals to ET. "We did a room for the girls -- a pop star room and Jennifer is a role model."

This season, "Extreme Makeover" is going to be paying tribute to heroes around the country -- and who is more heroic than Felicia Jackson, a mother of four, taking in her 10 nieces and nephews following the death of her sister?

"I empathize with her because I have a sister," stylist and designer Tracy Hutson says. "Her main goal was to keep all the kids together."

This season as "Extreme Makeover" travels around the country helping out those who have reached out to help others, they are going to do their best to be green.

"The whole design team has come together and said it is important for us to set a good example and go as green as possible," Tracy continues.

So what can the rest of us do to be included in the "green" movement?

"Just get started," she says. "I think people feel overwhelmed by getting started."

"Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" returns with all-new episodes on Sunday, Sept. 28 at 7 p.m. on ABC.
