Farm Aid founder and country music legend Willie Nelson is giving back to those devastated by recent Hurricanes Ike and Gustav!
The singer will give $30,000 to groups that specifically help family farmers in Texas and Louisiana, says the Associated Press.
Nelson, who is a native of Texas, announced his contributions Thursday -- which include $7,500 each to the Lutheran Social Services of the South, the Southern Mutual Help Association, the Louisiana Interchurch Conference and the Federation of Southern Cooperatives, the AP reports.
The Massachusetts-based Farm Aid plans to give more aid in the future, as the extent of the hurricane damage is assessed, says the AP.
Farm Aid, a benefit concert running since 1985, has raised more than $30 million since its first show. The next concert is scheduled for Sept. 20 in New England.
