The Rev. Jesse Jackson was hospitalized at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago on Wednesday after complaining of severe stomach pains, reports The Associated Press.
The 66-year-old civil rights leader and Barack Obama campaigner told the AP that he entered the medical center after falling ill earlier in the week. Doctors reportedly told him he has viral gastroenteritis -- an inflammation of the stomach and small and large intestines that isn't considered serious for most people, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention -- and are conducting more tests.
As of this morning, Jackson said he was feeling much better but did not know when he would be released from the hospital.
